Artist of the Day: Emalkay

With initial support in the form of grime veteran Plastician, he gained the attention of Boka Records with the warped, future bass drones and epic strings of Gut Feeling. Continuing the success, Testing The Waters EP was released in October 06 followed by Monsters.

The revolutionary sound of Mecha, released in the fall of 2007, gained Emalkay support from the likes of Radio 1 DJ Mary Anne Hobbs and breakbeat pioneer FreQ Nasty, as well as many of the leading figures of the current dubstep scene. It seemed Emalkay’s own potential as a pivotal dubstep artist was finally being realised.

Skrillex Radio Show: The Mothership!

This weekend, the electro / dubstep sensation, Skrillex, debuted his new radio show, ‘The Mothership,’ on Sirius XM’s ‘Electric Area’ (channel 52). During the two hour premier, Skrillex opened with his immensely popular remix of Benny Benassi’s “Cinema,” then mixed some monster dubstep and electro house tracks like Madeon’s remix of the mau5′s “Raise Your Weapon,” Feed Me’s “Grand Theft Ecstasy,” and Doctor P’s “Sweet Shop.” He closed out the two hour mix with his own track, “Rock N’ Roll (Will Take You to the Mountain.

A number of trance and house DJs have already tapped into international radio shows to increase the popularity of their music and their particular genres, so it’s great to see dubstep and electro producers following suit. Dubstep and electro house are on the rise, and new radio shows like ‘The Mothership’ are igniting this phenomenon. Make sure to catch the next edition of ‘The Mothership’ on Saturday morning at 1 a.m. EST.

Artist of the Day: Cookie Monsta

From a very early age Cookie Monsta was always into music. From around 11 years old a PlayStation game called "Music 200" caught his eye and that's where it all began. He would play on this game making loops, playing on it for ages. Then around 17 he had as many music games he could find, but he wanted more. Cookie Monsta never really knew about music production and came from a group of friends that were not into that sort of thing. When he applied at college he was frowned upon for doing this simply because people thought music was pointless to study.
He first opened up Reason 3 in September 2007 and the first ever Dubstep tune he heard was Midnight Request by Skream. Then hearing all the upbeat and darker side of Dubstep made Cookie Monsta get into it completely and ever since then he has been expanding his knowledge of Reason 4 by religiously using it as much as he could. A lot of people ask him for tips and tricks for producing but the best bit of advice, according to him is, "If you're passionate about making music and you know you want to make music then knuckle down and stay on it. If people doubt you carry on, no matter how bad things get. Music isn’t my hobby, it’s my life."

Artist of the Day: Sub Focus

This is one of my favorites producers of all time! Nicholas Douwma, better known by his stage name Sub Focus, is an English Electronic Music record producer. He has been releasing records since 2003. On 12 October 2009, he released his self-titled debut album.

In March 2005 he had a number one single on the UK Dance Chart with "X-Ray / Scarecrow". The single reached number 60 on the UK Singles Chart. In June 2008, he hit number one on the UK Dance Chart again with "Timewarp / Join the Dots" In August 2009, he cracked the UK Top 40 for the first time with "Rock It / Follow the Light", which reached number 38. "Rock It / Follow the Light" also got him a third UK Dance Chart #1, as well as reaching the B-List of BBC Radio 1's playlist.

In 2010, Sub Focus was a support act for Australian drum & bass band Pendulum on their UK tour to promote their third album Immersion. Later that year, he helped to produce the Example track "Kickstarts" from his second album, Won't Go Quietly. The track was successful in the UK Singles Chart, peaking at #3. This makes it Sub Focus' most commercially successful involvement with a single to date.

Artist of the Day: Feed Me

Jon Gooch, the creator of drum and bass giant Spor, ventured into the unforgiving genre of house, and the creature, fondly known of as Feed Me was born. Feed Me sprung into the public eye with an 12"to Mau5trap, making him the first external artist to feature on the imprint. With releases 'The Spell' and 'Raw Chicken', the hard-hitting electro combined with his trademark wide grin caught the eyes and ears of DJs around the world. An additional release with Noisia's label 'Division' saw the repertoire - and the hype - grow.

Set to release his first EP on his very own label 'Big Mouth' and lining up this year with a flurry of support slots with Deadmau5, the sharp-teethed monster is coming of age, and looking to make a big noise in 2011.

After a big nap which I took since 9pm 'till now, I get into Vimeo and I got stocked with this track by an amazing producer called Stapleford. Track was produced in early 2010, but he finished it and mastered it on May 2011. So that means... This guy took a whole year to produce this track! SICK!!

The track it's almost 9 mins, it's really inspiring and amazing how the melodies melt together and create a master track! No big intro, no breaks, just solid track. Enjoy!
